Tips On Email Marketing
Tips On Email Marketing
By Warren Miller.
If you are already earning income through your website, adding an email marketing solution into your arsenal should give a good boost to your earning potential. For a short period of time, you likely have their undivided attention as they are reading whatever it is you have to say. This personal level of communication is not possible with your more 'traditional' forms of advertising.
Email marketing allows you to build relationships - that's what it's all about. It's not about being pushy with advertisements. Think about how you'd react to constant advertisements - you'd ignore them, right? I bet it has become second nature for you to mentally block out consistent advertisements. Luckily, thanks to email marketing, you can build relationships and become a recognized guru in your field. These relationships are important for turning people into customers.
A good business marketing strategy, for an email management program, should certainly include the following things:
1. Be personal, but don't go overboard Luckily, a lot of email marketing programs out there allow you to set it up so that each recipient will receive your emails with it having their own name in the greeting. Using the first.name once in the greeting will be enough, any more than that may be a bit too much. Just the once will be fine, and as a result, each recipient will feel like you are speaking directly to them.
2. Talk to your recipients as if they're your friends. People tend to respond far more positively when being spoken to in a personal manner. Think about how much nicer it feels when staff are friendly to you in a retail store, you get a good feeling about the place, right? The same goes for the tone of your writing. Although friendly is good, remain professional, but don't be pushy.
3. Do not bombard your list with emails. This is an important business marketing strategy that is often ignored. Many online marketers send daily emails to their list, all under the guise of trying to gain brand recognition. If you built your list with an opt-in requirement, you are not doing anything wrong legally. But the term 'spammer' is thrown around quite loosely these days. Even if you are not spamming anyone, once you get that label it's hard to overcome.
Many marketers go for the sale too soon. It's NOT about getting people to buy immediately. Be informative in your writing, and provide consistent value for a long term pay-off. You'll be branded an expert in your field, and people will be more receptive and it'll be you who they reach out to when they're in need. Isn't that the point in your business? To provide something that is in need? Email marketing just happens to be a fantastic way to add a simple and personal touch, allowing you to reach a lot of people on a professional but also personal level.
