Should Students Attend The Classes?

Each individual has his own way to study effectively. Many people think that students at University do not need to attend class and study alone at home in stead. In some extent, studying textbooks cannot be compared with studying at class. I disagree with the view of point that university students should not attend class because they can study well at home. If every student has the same opinion like that, there would be no universities and colleges any more. The following reasons illustrate my viewpoint.

First and foremost, one of the biggest advantages when students participate in class comes from teachers. With the helpful guide and clear explanation of experienced teachers, students can avoid difficulties and complication in approaching new studies of knowledge. Teachers themselves have many years and experience in researching the major field for their career. In addition, they know what field of knowledge is important to focus on and impart to the students. It helps leaners to have the right direction and a short way to get understanding. Students, therefore, would save lots of time and energy if they attend class instead of gaining knowledge from textbook and other materials.

Second of all, students not only attend class to get more knowledge but also to learn discipline and routines. These rules are extremely essential when students graduate from Universities and start working at companies or offices. Teachers can accept students coming later for several reasons but no boss allows their employees to break the punctuality too often. In addition, coming class everyday gradually becomes your routine and then discipline. You must have a good schedule of each day and then follow that schedule. It helps you to live in strictness and principle, which is an important preparation before getting a career in this industrial life.

Third of all, studying alone at home never gives students opportunities of working in groups. Many lessons require students to have a debate and give the best conclusion to the problem. Besides, studying in groups is a good way to express our thought and ideas about something; this helps students to improve their reasoning and communicating skills. In addition, teamwork develops student's leadership and enhances their motivation in studying. If a problem and its solution are talked over and over in groups, this process can make you memorize the lesson much longer.

Last but not least, by sitting at home and becoming a bookworm, you will never have more friends and close relationship. It is said that student hood is the most beautiful and memorable time of our life. Students not only attend class because of the lesson but also to communicate and make friends. They exchange their viewpoints about the lesson, their concern of life or anything else. Actually, it is an effective way when friends learn from each others. Attending class does not stop at friendship but it contributes a lot the relationship between teachers and students. Teachers not only give students understanding about the subjects, but they are also open to share their own life experience, which is necessary for the young students.

All in all, each action has its own purpose; thousands of new universities are built up each year to satisfy student's desire for approaching knowledge. It would be a great pity if students cannot have the benefits that university brings to them.
